Summary of Position: Cornellians is a digital-first publication and alumni community hub produced as a partnership between Cornell Alumni Affairs & Development (AAD), University Relations (UR), and alumni. The Cornellians Alumni Advisory Council is the formal representation of the alumni voice in this partnership, collaborating with AAD and UR staff members to ensure that the alumni voice is represented in our editorial content and platform. This council will directly advise both the Cornellians Editor-in-Chief and the Platform Director, as well as senior AAD and UR leaders in this work. The mission of Cornellians is to engage and inspire alumni throughout their lifetime by informing, entertaining, and connecting the Big Red community around the globe.

Summary of Position: The main responsibility of the host / ambassador is to be connected with a Cornell SOTC participant through the summer. As an SOTC Ambassador, you will be assigned a student for the summer to check in on. Primarily you contact the student(s) before they arrive to introduce yourself and offer to help get them settled into the CWRU dorms. Some students need to be picked up from the airport and/or a ride to the store to pick up a few essentials. Several times over the summer check in with the student, invite them to dinner, etc.
As an SOTC volunteer, you are invited to special events throughout the summer. These events provide wonderful opportunities to network with Cleveland-area professionals who share a common passion for attracting young talent to the area, including SOTC board members and volunteers, and representatives from the corporations who employ SOTC interns.
Volunteers will receive training in May.

Summary of Position: The All Ivy Representative is responsible for acting as a liaison with the local All Ivy club and promote Cornell club events to the All Ivy community. The All Ivy Representative shall participate in all All Ivy club meetings, learn about best Ivy club practices and activities and communicate them to Club leadership.

Summary of Position: The Membership Chair is responsible for publishing the club's monthly newsletter, keeping the roster of members, and overseeing the efforts of the Board to increase membership and engagement in the Club. Membership Chair is responsible for tracking and providing support to Cornell alumni transitioning into the Miami area and engaging them. In addition, the Membership Chair is responsible for organizing a welcome mixer once a year to welcome alumni new to the area.

Summary of Position: The club President provides overall leadership and guidance to the Board and the local Cornell community, supports club programming and activities, and develops strategies for strengthening the local alumni engagement. The club President is responsible for regular communication with the Alumni Affairs Regional Staff Contact, to include submitting annual reports and plans, event detail forms, and other requested information, as well as sharing information with their local alumni community from Cornell University and other regional clubs. It is important that the club President ensures continued leadership by communicating with local alumni about participating in the club and maintaining strong ties to Cornell University.

Summary of Position: The club Programming Chair is responsible for creating interesting opportunities for events and activities that align with Cornell University priorities to engage alumni, parents and friends. Evaluating opportunities such as outside networking and Cornell-centric events is helpful to keep the schedule of events lively and interesting. Signature events help the club make a name and create a special Cornell alumni connection, while one-off opportunities create a sense of inclusion without long-term commitments.

Summary of Position: The secretary takes minutes from Board meetings and distributes them to the Board and maintains a record of all meeting minutes to be kept on record with the club. The Secretary is in charge of ensuring the bylaws are up-to-date and shall perform other duties of the office and as assigned by the President. The Secretary also shall be responsible for all correspondence, including thanking speakers and donors and responding to all inquiries from Cornellians. The Secretary shall also coordinate, maintain and update the alumni job network data and information.

Summary of Position: The Social Media Chair is responsible for managing outgoing emails to club members, maintaining the club's web pages, as well as ensuring any and all social media outlets are up-to-date. Summary of Position: The club Treasurer is responsible for maintaining the club's local bank accounts, provide reimbursements, and prepare annual financial reports. Summary of Position: Subject to the Charter of the University and laws of the of the State, the Board of Trustees shall have supreme control over the University, including every college, school, and academic department, division and center thereof. The Bylaws delegate responsibility for day-to-day administration of the University to the president and his staff; but the Board retains ultimate policy-making authority. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: electing tenured faculty; electing the president, provost, university counsel/secretary of the corporation, VPs, Deans, other senior administrators & establishing their compensation; providing advice on educational policy, programs, and campus life; and adopting the University's budget.

Summary of Position: The club affinity outreach chair is part of the team who provide leadership and guidance to the board and the local Cornell community. In addition, the affinity outreach chair is asked to create, along with a committee, an outreach plan for the club to identify events and activities to better engage the diverse local Cornell community through the common bond of location, class, student activities and college/degree base. The outreach chair shall also welcome new alumni to the area as indicated by the new to the area lists.

Summary of Position: The Cornell Club of Ithaca (CCI) seeks volunteers from the Ithaca, NY area to serve on its Board of Directors. CCI is a dues-free alumni organization. Board members are responsible for the general control and management of the club. The main purpose of CCI is to support Cornell’s mission, build community, and drive peer-to-peer engagement among members of the Cornell community in the Ithaca, NY area. There is a minimal time commitment involved. Typical responsibilities include planning volunteering and social events and attending Board meetings. Leadership opportunities will most likely open up over the next few years (President, Vice President, Treasurer, Security).
