Summary of Position

The principal responsibility of the Reunion Chair(s) is to plan and execute the Class Reunion in Ithaca every five years. Reunion Chairs must adhere to deadlines; work closely with their reunion staff contact in the year prior to Reunion; establish a budget and monitor account statements; recruit and lead a committee to help run their Reunion; delegate responsibilities to fellow officers and Reunion committee members; and remain flexible during busy times. Organization planning is done in Year 4, and most of the active effort is throughout Year 5 of the class life cycle (extends to October following Reunion).

The reunion chair will spend significant time communicating via phone and email with Classmates interested in attending Reunion and with their reunion staff contact.

Reunion Chairs are responsible for planning the Class Reunion. Additionally, Reunion Chairs will recruit and lead the reunion committee and are members of the Class Leadership Team.

Encourage and accommodate Classmates to attend Reunion. The Reunion Chairs may also support inexperienced committee members and/or help develop future Reunion Chairs.

Other Meeting Details: Leadership Team conference calls held twice per year in addition to the meeting at CALC. Chairs are strongly encouraged to attend the Reunion of the class preceding them. Attendance is mandatory at Reunion Kick-Off (in person), Reunion Mid-Winter training (virtual), and the Clerk/Chair Briefing (in person) which takes place the Wednesday of Reunion week.

Additional Attendance Requirements: Chairs are strongly encouraged to attend the Reunion of the class preceding them. Reunion Kick-Off, CALC workshop, and reunion webinar attendance are all mandatory.
