Summary of Position

The Director of Events are responsible for planning and hosting alumni events and coordinating with the events team to brainstorm new events. The Director takes a leadership role in mentoring volunteers to implement events and also recruits and trains new volunteers as needed.

Plan or co-plan at least four alumni events per year (one per quarter). Manage events onsite, interacting with alumni and leading volunteers. Manage event promotion, including creating and posting announcements on website. and coordinating with Social Media Director to promote event postings and feature events in newsletter. Communicate important event updates at Board meetings as necessary.

Event Directors are the engine of Cornell NorCal. Event Directors represent both us and the University. Directors are expected to carry themselves in a professional manner. Directors may train volunteers and recruit new members when possible.
