Summary of Position: This award recognizes the achievements and qualities of a Cornellian who best exemplifies the ideals of entrepreneurship by meeting most of the following criteria:
- The entrepreneur has started and/or successfully scaled a business (for profit or non-profit) or contributed substantially to the turnaround or growth of a business. Company can be ongoing with founder involvement or exited via a sale or IPO.
- Differentiating qualitative factors such as social impact/benefit to humanity, inspirational story or outcome, involvement with Cornell, etc., can all play a role (but are not required) in the selection and we encourage nominations to address such factors if known.
