Summary of Position

The Cornell Club of Chicago offers engaging programs and activities for alumni, students, parents, and friends of Cornell University in the greater Chicago area. Our Harvest Ball is a black tie event organized to support the Cornell Club of Chicago Scholarship Fund. Features include: ✅Elegant sit-down dinner and drinks ✅Exciting silent auction ✅Tax deductible sponsorship opportunities ✅Music and dancing The planning committee is made of 3 subcommittees that begin meeting in February so join early! ☑️Fundraising ☑️Marketing ☑️Programming We offer incentives for reliable volunteers: ✔️Certificate of Service ✔️Recognition at event & in marketing ✔️LinkedIn recommendation ✔️Discount to future Cornell of Chicago event

Requirements

Prerequisites Volunteers should have either experience or interest in one of the subcommittee areas. Personal attributes that will help someone with no experience be successful in these committees are: ➡️Fundraising (persuasive and interpersonal verbal and written communication and follow-up, can-do attitude, perseverance) ➡️Marketing (stellar writing communication, ability to research and apply best practices for achieving goal-oriented results) ➡️Programming (interpersonal verbal communication and follow-up, highly organized, problem-solving) All committee members should be reliable, trustworthy, accountable, and committed to the cause, task-oriented and goal-driven.
