Summary of Position

The Director of Technology is responsible for the strategic development of technology used to support the club's mission. This includes awareness of emerging technologies that could support club transactions and activities. The Director manages maintenance, periodic updates and improvements to existing technologies including the club website. The director is responsible for working with other board members to ensure the club's technology tools support the overall strategies of the organization as it pertains to membership development, event processing and data exchange with Cornell University.

Ensure the security of both club and alumni personal and financial data. Maintain documentation of passwords and processes. Documentation should enable handoff of processes to another board member in case of need.

Troubleshoot performance and design issues with the website. Ensure backup of data stored on technology sites on regular basis and has a yearly disaster recovery test.

Represent Cornell
Ensure that at least one person is familiar with technological processes as a backup. Collaborate with other Board Members, particularly Membership Director, Programming Committee and Director of Social Media, to ensure website is supporting their activities and initiatives.
