Summary of Position
The club vice president for programming assists in providing leadership and guidance to the board and the local Cornell community.
Initiates and supports club programming and activities, and develops strategies for strengthening the local alumni engagement.
The club vice president for programming is responsible for assisting in sharing information with the local alumni community from Cornell University. It is important that club vice presidents also ensure continued leadership by communicating with local alumni about participating in the club and maintaining strong ties to Cornell University.
Additionally, the club vice president for programming provides back-up to the president in case of absence.

Speak to Groups
It is important that The Vice President for Programming is able to speak with a variety of alumni, parents and friends, especially in one-on-one conversations. Although public speaking is not necessarily a part of the position, this role should have a comfort level in speaking to their constituents. The ability to share a clear message is important in both speaking and communicating via email.

The Vice President for Programming will collaborate with other members of the club board to create and execute exciting, interesting events for the club constituency;
Ensures the fiscal viability of all events;
Maintains communication with the Alumni Affairs office to ensure event detail forms and attendance lists are submitted in a timely manner and details are continually updated;
Works closely with other club officers, especially the recent and young alumni vice president, club secretary, and vice president for communications to promote upcoming events;

The Vice President for Programming should actively participate in succession planning and board opportunity discussions within their community. Meeting alumni and speaking with them about opportunities to engage the local Cornell community are vital to the growth of the club. Ensuring a visible presence at events and fostering a welcoming and helpful atmosphere are all important aspects of a club president's tenure.
