Summary of Position
The Human Ecology Alumni Association Board Members act as a liaison between the College and its alumni through individual and collective outreach. As ambassadors for the College, they support priorities of the Dean, participate in Human Ecology alumni activities on and off campus, and bring news of the College to the attention of those in their community, including alumni, industry contacts, high school students and their parents. In addition, special consideration will be given to alumni who enhance the diversity, equity, and inclusion goals of the Board.

As representatives of the Human Ecology Alumni Association, members will send periodic communication to alumni and speak to alumni at events by sharing information about the Board, and by sharing their College, career, philanthropy, and volunteer experiences.

Serve on a Committee or Board
Board members serve on teams developing and initiating activities in coordination with Human Ecology Alumni Affairs & Development and supporting annual projects such as Student Grants and Alumni Achievement Awards and helping to coordinate annual events such as the Reunion Breakfast and Homecoming gatherings. Team participation includes joining conference calls and staying in touch via email, providing activity updates, hosting events or providing event support, and providing follow-up reports.

Attend Human Ecology and Cornell alumni events as a representative of the University and the College alumni to forge new and continued connections to Human Ecology. Serve as an ambassador for the College by sharing information about how alumni can be involved and engaged with the College. Assist with new board member orientation and mentorship. Help identify future board members, volunteers for the College, donors, and prospective students.
