Summary of Position

CAAAN Committee members serve as ambassadors for the Undergraduate Admissions Office and Cornell by helping with recruitment and yield efforts. They: * personalize the freshman admissions process by meeting informally with applicants * represent Cornell at local college fairs and other recruitment events * encourage admitted students to choose Cornell through a variety of yield efforts

CAAAN Volunteers should be active participants and contributors to their local CAAAN committees. While much of the work is individual, volunteers should communicate with the group, provide feedback to their chairs as appropriate, and contribute to the overall goal of making positive connections with local prospective students.

Volunteers will represent Cornell to students, parents, and occasionally high school staff. Developing and maintaining a positive, friendly, yet professional rapport with constituents and fellow volunteers is critical.

Prerequisites Must be a Cornell graduate (any division) and also be willing to abide by our Guidelines and Best Practices.
