Summary of Position

While the president is responsible for overall leadership and coordination, the treasurer is typically the most called upon officer for financial and strategic planning purposes. The treasurer must review the class account statement for accuracy each month. Any questions or discrepancies should be discussed with the Alumni Affairs staff contact. In year 5 of reunion, treasurers will work with Reunion Chairs to review Reunion charges in the class account.

The Treasurer is responsible for preparing reports on the account status for the Class Leadership Team and presenting them at meetings in a clear manner so that the status is clear to all, including individuals lacking financial expertise.

It is the Treasurer's responsibility to answer any question an officer might have about reimbursement, allowable expenses, conference and reunion fees. The Treasurer must review the Class account statement for accuracy each month. The Treasurer is a member of the Class Leadership Team.

The Treasurer will maintain relationships with Class officers via off-campus meetings and conference calls as needed, and encourage responsible stewardship of Class funds.

Prerequisites Some financial experience and expertise is required. Examples include budgeting, expense analysis, financial statement analysis, financial controls processes. Basic knowledge of Excel is required.
