Summary of Position

The primary responsibility of the Vice President is to shadow the President so that he/she can assume the President’s responsibilities should the President become absent or is otherwise unable to fulfill the duties of the position. This includes running Class and Leadership Team meetings, writing Class letters, and ensuring that regular communication among the officer group takes place. The Vice President is responsible for planning and implementing Class activities such as Homecoming, Class dinners and social events. The Vice President coordinates and encourages the formation of regional Class organizations and networks, and supports the planning and execution of their activities.

In the President’s absence, the Vice President will be responsible for writing and editing correspondence to Classmates. The Vice President will represent the work of the Class in small and large group settings.

The Vice President may lead and oversee Class officer initiatives as directed by the President and may be called on to chair Class meetings. The Vice President leads a team for planning regional Class events. The Vice President takes the lead in planning Class participation in events such as Homecoming and Class dinners.

Represent Cornell
The Vice President will represent the Class at Cornell functions and will engage Classmates for regional and special projects. In the Class President’s absence, the Vice President will encourage Classmates to pay their class dues, attend Reunion and support the Annual Fund.
