Summary of Position

The President shall be the chief executive officer of CAAA, responsible for general and active management of the business of the Association and have supervisory authority over its officers and committees. The President shall preside at all meetings of the Board and the Members. The President shall represent CAAA at all the meetings pertaining to Cornell Alumni or shall appoint a member to represent CAAA. Working with the Treasurer and Vice President of Development and Fundraising, the President shall address all issues related to CAAA Tradition Fellowship and scholarship program. Additionally, as a volunteer for Cornell University, the President shall vote in Cornell's annual alumni trustee election.

The President shall represent CAAA at meetings among other alumni organizations. The President will represent the work and impact of CAAA in individual, small and large group settings. The President will also craft and send out communications to members on a variety of topics.

The President shall, with the advice and consent of the Executive Board, appoint committees, name their chairpersons and ensure the proper performances of their functions. The President shall be an ex-officio member of all committees. The President shall be knowledgeable of CAAA geographical membership and should work with Cornell partners to track membership trends and data.

The President shall be the chief executive officer of CAAA and shall have supervisory authority over the affairs of CAAA, its officers, committees and Regional Representatives. The President will represent CAAA and the diverse communities at other Cornell board meetings. The President shall maintain existing donor relationships and bridge new donor relationships when possible.
