Summary of Position

The Vice President for Community Engagement (VP of Community Engagement) shall coordinate Association campaigns to engage its members, partners and sponsors. The VP of Community Engagement work with DAP to liaise with other alumni groups in the University Community (e.g. CAAAN, CUeLinks, CCAAB, diverse alumni groups, regional alumni groups), and will coordinate association efforts to recruit and retain its members for all assorted committees and tasks. The VP of Community Engagement shall perform such other duties as may be assigned by the President or the Executive Board.

The Vice President of Community Engagement shall regularly communicate CAAA annual programming and campaigns to relevant alumni groups in the University community (e.g., CAAAN, CCAAB, Diversity Groups, regional alumni groups). The Vice President should aim to promote greater Asian involvement in the at-large University community, and vice versa.

The Vice President shall be responsible for organizing programs that focus on the University, or that are jointly sponsored with other alumni groups in the University community. The Vice President, in conjunction with Cornell partners, shall lead programming efforts for CAAA engagement in major Cornell events, including but not limited to CALC, Reunion, Homecoming, Zinck’s Night, Commencement, TCAM, and international conferences.

Identify and interact with CAAA event attendees and members, and connect them to CAAA via social media or email. The VP of Community Engagement is responsible for making sure alumni are included in the CAAA listserv and consistently receive updates through emails. Participate in Cornell and CAAA events and programs as needed. The Vice President for Community Engagement shall pursue joint sponsorship of events with local Cornell clubs, other diverse alumni associations and other organizations.
