Summary of Position

The Treasurer shall be responsible for the fiscal planning of the Association and maintain records of financial accounts owned or controlled by the association. The Treasurer shall, with assistance from other board members, create and regularly monitor an annual budget. The Treasurer will support the VP of Programming and principal event chairs as needed to create and maintain sustainable budgeting and fiscal responsibilities for events like the Pan Asian Banquet, Diwali, New Student Welcome Receptions, and Reunion. The Treasurer shall also perform such other duties as assigned by the President or the Executive Board.

The Treasurer shall collect all funds due to the association and disburse funds as required to meet the Association’s obligations in conjunction with Alumni Affairs staff. The Treasurer shall keep accurate accounts of all receipts and disbursements, and shall submit a written report on such accounts upon request. The Treasurer shall keep the funds of the Association in a separate account to the credit of the association, unless the Board directs otherwise. The Treasurer shall render to the president and the Board, as requested by them, but not less than every quarter, regular accounting of all transactions and of the financial condition for the Association. The Treasurer shall be responsible for filing the association’s tax returns as needed.
