Summary of Position

The Vice President of Student Relations shall serve as the official liaison alongside university partners and is responsible for promoting awareness and membership amongst Asian students. The VP of Student Relations in collaboration with campus partners shall actively promote Asian student participation in programs offered by the Asian and Asian American Center and Asian American Studies Program. The VP of Student Relations shall recognize the interest of Pan Asian students and lead efforts to satisfy student interests through various educational and career-focused programming, either as CAAA-only events or co-sponsored events with student groups and/or campus units and departments.

The Vice President for Student Relations shall be the official liaison with the University student community and promote greater Asian student involvement in the University. Shall have regular meetings with CAAA campus partners to discuss annual plans and programming.

The Vice President for Student Relations shall plan and organize activities to engage Asian students outside of the campus setting, which includes the management and coordination CAAA annual New Student Welcome Reception and Welcome to the Club Happy Hour Mixer. The VP of Student Relations shall also play a role in integrating and welcoming new graduates into the association.

The Vice President for Student Relations shall maintain channels of communication between CAAA and enrolled students, organize campus and regional events for students and alumni, and participate in mentoring and networking programs that target Asian students.
