Summary of Position
The communications chair is part of the team who provide leadership and guidance to the board and the local Cornell community. In addition, the web manager is responsible for maintaining the club’s web page, as well as ensuring all social media outlets are up-to-date. The communications chair is also asked to explore all options for maintaining a robust online club presence and use social media to effectively communicate club and alumni activity with the local Cornell community and will work to help devise creation of all external and internal/network communications products and materials online, and other optional media tactics. It is important that this candidate is able to communicate in board meetings and share thoughts and ideas with the board. Although public speaking is not mandatory, it is helpful to have a comfort level in speaking to their constituents. The ability to share a clear message is important in both speaking and communicating via email and especially on the club web pages.
