Summary of Position
The club treasurer is part of the team who provide leadership and guidance to the board and the local Cornell community. In addition, the treasurer is responsible for maintaining the club's local bank accounts and financial planning as well as ensuring club officers are informed about the appropriate allowable expenditures and reimbursements, current accounting balances, event overages and debts and any outstanding payments. The treasurer is also responsible for making deposits and payments on behalf of the club as well as maintaining up-to-date paperwork for the bank account and all additional documentation.

It is important that the club treasurer is able to speak in board meetings and share documents on club accounting with the board, along with accounting and paperwork status. Although public speaking is not mandatory, it is helpful to have a comfort level in speaking to their constituents. The ability to share a clear message is important in both speaking and communicating via email.
