Summary of Position
The CCW Vice-President of Programming is responsible for overseeing the planning, creation, and execution of compelling events and activities (either virtual or in-person) that will engage Cornell alumni located in the greater Washington, DC metro area. (Events: https://cornellclubdc.org/events) Subject and venue diversity (DC, MD, VA) as well as alumni diversity/equity/inclusion are actively encouraged. Each CCW event for which admission is charged should be coordinated with the CCW Treasurer to ensure that the registration fees cover the cost of the event plus the CCW credit card processing fees, as CCW events are not expected to result in a loss, unless so approved in advance by the board. This position includes maintaining and updating the Programming Calendar on the CCW website by creating individual listings for each new Calendar item and sending out email announcements of these individual listings to CCW Members and other local Cornellians. This position also coordinates with other local Cornell alumni groups and with Cornell Alumni Affairs & Development (AAD) to encourage the inclusion of other Washington DC area Cornell-related events on the Calendar. In addition, this position coordinates with the CCW Vice-President of Communications to ensure that the CCW Newsletter and CCW social media pages are updated accordingly from the Calendar. This position provides Programming reports during the monthly CCW board meetings, chairs the Programming Committee meetings afterward, and provides quarterly event attendance updates to AAD.
