Summary of Position

Mosaic At-Large members provide input on diversity related programs, offer feedback and perspective on university initiatives, and contribute to Cornell as volunteers and ambassadors. Mosaic fulfills its objectives by collaborating with the university to build support for Diversity Alumni Programs and the populations it serves; interacting with and supporting on-campus diversity programs and offices; and participating in broad-based university initiatives. Mosaic seeks to improve the campus/university climate to achieve full inclusion of all Cornellians to realize our founding principle of “any person, any study.”

Speak to Groups
Opportunities to meet and consult with senior university administrators about issues important to Cornell’s diverse communities; Collaborate on initiatives of strategic importance to AAD on behalf of the Associate Vice President for Alumni Affairs.

Serve on a Committee or Board
Serve on a standing committee of Mosaic or another alumni organization, board, or council; Attend Cornell sponsored meetings, events, and conferences in your local community and on campus as an ambassador of Cornell Mosaic; Nominate future Mosaic candidates and/or submit nominations of diverse alumni to other university volunteer organizations (i.e. Council, PCCW, college advisory boards, etc.).

Provide strategic input on engagement initiatives to Diversity Alumni Programs (DAP); Respond to students, faculty, and administrators as it pertains to diversity initiatives and programs to provide input, speak, or otherwise show support.

Requirements

Prerequisites The At-Large membership body will serve as the premier organization of diverse Cornellians committed to Mosaic’s mission to promote diversity and advance inclusion. To quality for membership, a candidate must meet at least one of the following criteria: • Demonstrated professional leadership and involvement in diversity initiatives and inclusion activities. • Demonstrated leadership and involvement in Cornell volunteer roles with a preference for diversity initiatives and inclusion activities. • Significant contribution to the betterment of society through leadership in community, educational, charitable, or humanitarian endeavors. • Innovator in their area of expertise. • Demonstrated commitment to improving and strengthening the experience of diverse Cornellians.
