Summary of Position

The primary responsibility of the vice president is to shadow the president so that he/she can assume the president's responsibilities should the president become absent or is otherwise unable to fulfill the duties of the position. The vice president may also assist the president in planning and implementing class activities and facilitate communication among the class leadership. In the absence of the president, the vice president will assume all responsibilities of the president's office, and may be required to run class meetings, write class letters, and ensure that regular communication among the officer group takes place.

In the president's absence, the vice president will be responsible for writing and editing correspondence to classmates, including membership and invitation mailings. The vice president will represent the work of the class in small and large group settings

The vice president may lead and oversee the class officer initiatives and the class meetings, which meets at least once a year at CALC should the president not be able to fulfill his/her role.

The vice president will represent the class at Cornell functions and will engage classmates through class membership, events and other class initiatives. In the class president’s absence, they vice president will encourage classmates to pay their class dues, attend Reunion and support the Annual Fund.
