Summary of Position
The Director at Large positions will serve as members of the club and act as informed ambassadors of the Cornell Club of the Berkshires. They will mentor and recruit other volunteers for future leadership opportunities; facilitate and enrich connections within the local Cornell University community; extend and renew the Cornell University experience; and build further affinity and pride within the local Cornell University community. There are other opportunities to take on additional strategic opportunities and initiatives throughout the year.

Speak to Groups
It is important that the Directors at Large are able to speak in board meetings and share thoughts and ideas with the board. Although public speaking is not mandatory, it is helpful to have a comfort level in speaking to their constituents. The ability to share a clear message of welcome and inclusion is important in both speaking and communicating via email.

Serve on a Committee or Board
Directors at Large should attend and participate in club board meetings. They should also provide support and represent Cornell at any Cornell Club activities and functions as new unassigned board tasks arise, the president can assign duties to the director at large. This might include overseeing task forces, events, or opportunities within the local community.
A director at large may also sit on certain committees to ensure the board's activities and Cornell University’s desires align.

The Directors at Large should actively participate in succession planning and board opportunity discussions within their community. Meeting alumni and speaking with them about opportunities to engage the local Cornell community are vital to the growth of the club.
