Summary of Position

The President shall be the Chief Officer of the Association and shall exercise the usual functions of a presiding office. The President shall serve as an ex-officio member of all committees. Additionally, the President shall provide council and advocacy to Cornell on issues pertaining to the Latino/a/x alumni and student community and help nominate the CLAA representative to the Committee on Alumni Trustee elections and perform such other duties within the office to advance CLAA’s mission statement and vision.

The President will represent the work and impact of CLAA in individual, small and large group settings. The President will also craft and send out communications to CLAA members on a variety of topics. The President will preside over all meetings.

Additional Attendance Requirements: Attendance at TCAM, Homecoming, and CALC are strongly encouraged. There shall be a minimum of one annual membership meeting. The annual membership meeting shall be held at the Cornell Alumni Leadership Conference or at another venue as deemed appropriate by the Board.
