Summary of Position

The chair of the College Advisory Council will be selected by the dean and normally serve for three years; appointments may be extended on a year-to-year basis upon mutual agreement by the chair and dean. The chair serves on the Executive Committee; leads meetings; welcomes newly appointed members to the council prior to the start of their first term; assists with new member orientation; facilitates council meeting executive sessions; works collaboratively with the Office of Alumni Affairs and Development on council programs and initiatives; communicates to the council and other college constituencies from time to time; represents the college at events, public and private gatherings when appropriate.

Requirements

Prerequisites The chair is selected based on familiarity with the broad issues pertaining to veterinary medicine and one health. Ability to attend and play a leadership role in the annual Volunteer Leadership Annual Summit is essential. Prior experience as a college-based volunteer is preferred.
